How to spend less
- Plan three meals that share ingredients: one can of black beans can go into two recipes.
- Store brands usually cost less than name brands.
- Canned beans and vegetables last for months and don’t need the fridge until opened.
- Compare the unit price on the shelf label, not just the package price.
- Only buy as much fresh food as fits in your mini fridge.
