Ingredients: one 6-oz cup plain dairy yogurt, about 2/3 cup (170 g); 3/4 cup chopped apple, about 1/2 apple (100 g); 1/4 cup ready-to-eat granola (30 g); 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon.

Equipment: bowl, spoon, knife, chopping board, measuring cups and spoons, and a refrigerator with a thermometer. A scale is optional for the reference gram amounts.

  1. Prepare the apple. Wash the apple, remove its core on a chopping board and chop into small pieces. Measure 3/4 cup (100 g), about half an apple.
  2. Mix the yogurt. Put one 6-oz cup plain dairy yogurt (170 g) in a bowl. Stir in 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon until evenly speckled.
  3. Add the fruit. Place the measured 100 g chopped apple over the yogurt.
  4. Finish with crunch. Scatter 1/4 cup ready-to-eat granola (30 g) on top just before eating. Eat promptly while it is still crisp.

Check before eating: contains milk; granola allergens vary, including nuts and wheat. Read every label. Eat promptly or cover and refrigerate promptly at 40°F / 4°C or colder, following the shortest applicable package storage instructions.

The current book’s recipes and preparation times have not been independently kitchen-tested. Follow actual ingredient and appliance instructions.
